Frequently asked questions.

What should I wear for my headshot session?

Choose outfits that make you feel confident and represent your personality or profession well. Solid colors tend to work best, and avoid overly busy patterns or logos. If you’re unsure, bring a couple of options — I’m happy to help you decide during the shoot.

Can you help me pose? I’m not very comfortable in front of the camera.

Absolutely — that’s what I’m here for. Most people aren’t professional models, and it’s my job to guide you into natural, flattering poses that feel authentic and relaxed.

Do you offer hair and makeup for my shoot?

Yes, on request — I partner with well-established, experienced hair and makeup artists who can provide hair, makeup, or both. They’ll stay for the shoot for any touchups to make sure you look great until the last photo! See my services page for pricing.

Can I book a session for my entire team or office?

Yes — I offer on-location sessions that make it easy and efficient for businesses to get high-quality headshots for individuals or groups. I’ll work with you to plan the timing, backdrop, and style that suits your team.

How much space do you need for mobile or on-location headshots?

I can work with some pretty tight spaces, but plan for a bare minimum of 10’ x 10’. Open spaces work great, so conference rooms, atriums, living rooms, and open plan kitchens are all viable options. If you are in doubt, contact me and I’d be happy to discuss options.

Do you offer retouching?

Yes — all final images include light, localized retouching to reduce temporary blemishes, flyaways, and distractions while keeping you looking natural. I want you to look like the best version of yourself — not like someone else.

What if I need to reschedule?

Life happens! Just give me as much notice as you can and we’ll find another time. I understand things come up, and I try to be as flexible as possible.

How long will it take to receive my finalized photos?

Larger photoshoots take longer to process, but most clients receive their final edits within five business days of the shoot.

Can you remove watermarks from my proofing gallery?

No — proofing galleries are for reviewing proofs and selecting favorites before they’re ready for prime time. They often don’t reflect final edits, which means they don’t represent the quality of work you’ve paid for. Watermarks are removed when files are purchased, made available for free download, or when an entire gallery is purchased.

Can you give me the RAW files?

No — RAW files are like digital negatives — they’re unprocessed and not yet a finished product. Part of what you’re hiring me for is the editing and retouching that brings your images to life. I deliver high-resolution, fully edited images that reflect the quality, style, and professional standard of Halide Photography. Sharing RAW files would be like a chef serving unfinished ingredients instead of a plated meal — and I want you to walk away with something polished and ready to use.

Do I own the copyright to the images I purchase?

No — Halide Photography retains the copyright to all images it produces, even those you pay for. When you purchase a file or print, you’re granted a limited-use license that matches your intended use. I’ll always work with you to make sure the license fits your needs.

Can I use my photos on LinkedIn, a dating profile, or my website?

Yes — when you receive your final images, they’re yours to use under the license you’ve purchased — and that includes professional and personal uses like LinkedIn, dating apps, social media, or websites.
